We love Madeon. Is that obvious by now? We made his Pop Culture Mashup Video go viral earlier this year, and one of us met him after a show in Vienna last month. Urban Contact - Winter Mixtape 2011

Look what I dug up - a sick mixtape from the winter, put together by two Vienna artists known as Urban Contact. They started in 2009 DJing at local clubs until they were picked up by Balloon Records and started producing their own music, with a huge online response. This is a massive mix - it mashes together everything from Knife Party to Coldplay. I love it and you will too, so check out this great hour long set below:

Singularity lowers his typical frequencies for this feel-good track that was released about a month ago, and he’s gotten a great response. James Egbert - Halo (Feat. Kill Paradise)

Here’s a feel-good dubstep track from a James Egbert, a 24 year old producer who claims he’s been using a synth since age 8. After ghost producing more than 20 iTunes chart-topping tracks for a few years, he decided to try to make a name for himself in the EDM spotlight. I’d say he’s on his way to success - only a year after his first live DJ set he’s shared the stage Skrillex, Wolfgang Gartner and Avicii. Yeah, that’s some momentum.

This song kind of tricked me at first…I thought it was too clean and happy in the beginning. But when it drops, ohhhh it drops. Egbert’s synths are spot on, and he does a great job using some mid frequency tones to offset the low womps. It’s a pretty versatile track - I put it on the dubstep and chill playlists. Check it!

Avicii - Live Set at Electric Daisy Carnival in New York

With Electric Daisy Carnival wrapping up in New York over the weekend, a bunch of live sets have been popping up. Listening and deciding which ones to post up certainly isn’t an easy job. However, we couldn’t help but post the Avicii live set. It’s massive in every single way and makes you feel as if you were there. At 120min long, you can’t go wrong with some classic Avicii to spruce up your day. And if you’re wondering when Levels comes on, it’s around the 90min mark.

Two live sets in two days?! You got it and this one is by Madeon, the 17 year old legend from France. We’ve featured him before with his live mashup hit on youtube and we’ve even seen him live in Vienna, Austria (check out the photo on our facebook!). Dank, the CEO and founder of Funky Element Records who has been mixing for over 12 years and has been heard in live sets from Tiesto to Benny Benassi, labeled his song “The Hard Knocks” not because it’s got “A Hard Knock Life” in it, but instead because of the hard knocks you’ll feel from your subwoofer when you play it. He’s had numerous Beatport top 10 charts and his SoundCloud looks like someone spilled blue paint on it from all the comments. Seriously, look at it. And with this latest drumstep banger he’s only gonna continue his rise to fame.

We’ve featured Kill Paris before on Stop Drop Rave with a T.G.C.F. remix that was killer. There’s not much online about this DJ other than that he’s from L.A. and his profile picture on Soundcloud is as follows:

Is that him? I hope so. Considering he’s got that extra-special electro sauce to make some smooth bangers I bet those girls were paying him. Anyways, his recent track “I’m Free” is pretty chill so I thought it would be perfect for our chill playlist. Simple as that.

We still remember when we saw Steve Aoki live a bit over a year ago; it was epic and anytime we hear anything by this guy we need to have it. This latest release is a 53 minute live set provided by Dance Department, the best radio station in Holland. Its a great mix for any party you got and the beats start to drop as soon as the 1:30min mark. If you love Steve Aoki, you’ll love this.

A free EP is always a catalyst for a good time. And the recent Catalyst EP, a joint effort by UK artists Tristam & Rogue is even more than that. Kezwik - Promise Me

Kezwik (a.k.a. Michael Jones) is yet another 16-year-old electro-prodigy. Why do we always find so many of these? Does that make them not prodigies if there are more just like them? Anyyyyways he got connected with the founder of Simplify Recordings at a show and since then he’s released some really awesome bangers (check out his Get Dropped EP). This latest release on his Tame EP is some of his best work yet, and deserves a listen.

It’s so fast it will make you go psycho crazy.

Like a sir. I don’t know what fancy tangerines are, but I need more of them in my life. Awesome Astronaut is actually a DJ named Ian Petty who is a senior at UConn right now. He’s only got 4 tracks on SoundCloud but they’re pretty damn good! He loves to use complex synth leads and make really long tracks, and at Stop Drop Rave we are down with that recipe. Check it!

Coming up and making a name for himself out of Boulder, Colorado; Dirt Monkey (Patrick Megeath) has been a major force in the electronic music game both locally and internationally as of late.
